As part of our 2021 Winter Twist series, we welcome you to join us for this wonderful opportunity to learn from Bonnie Noehr.
This 2.5 hour workshop will introduce you to Gwen Weaver’s delightful, modern pointed pen script known as Weaver Writing. Gwen aptly described this hand as “just plain fun” and it is! You will learn the strokes to form the minuscule alphabet which can then be personalized to your liking.

Sales for Winter Twist Weaver Writing workshop will end on Wednesday 13th October 2021 9pm BST. The recordings will only be available to students who have purchased by this date. We will not be selling the recording after the live sessions.

Materials
Pointed pen
whatever paper and ink you are accustomed to
Pencil and other monoline tools will also work
Walnut ink, Bister inks, watercolor and other thin inks are recommended.
A grid pad may be helpful but not necessary.
Bond paper is fine for practice and some Arches text wove or similar would work well for a final quote.
Please have the provided guidelines transferred to a few sheets of paper before class.
The Teacher
As a speech and language pathologist, Bonnie’s professional life focused on the spoken word. As she began to learn calligraphy in the 1970s, she developed a passion for the written word as well.
Pointed pen scripts and Gothic hands are her favorite (I know, could they be any more different?!). She studied Copperplate and its variations with Mike Kecseg, Younghae Chung and Pat Blair. After meeting Gwen Weaver at an international calligraphy conference and inviting her to teach for her local guild in San Jose, California, Bonnie, fell in love with Gwen’s adaptations to traditional pointed pen scripts. She hopes you will help her carry the torch for Gwen.
