Live stream tickets
After a fantastically successful test run with live streaming Heather Held’s Rome workshop, we are excited to be able to offer 3 live stream tickets to students who would not otherwise be able to join the workshop. We appreciate that there are many reasons why people cannot attend a workshop, and would like to offer those most in need the chance to join us virtually.
Who is eligible for a Live Stream ticket?
We are offering the live stream option to three people who are significantly prevented from attending one of our workshops. Whether you have family obligations or long-term illness, we would like to extend this opportunity to join us.
We won’t be asking for substantiating evidence, but we do ask that nominate yourself for a place only if you feel that your circumstances would prevent you from attending in person.
How much does a Live Stream ticket cost?
Tickets for the Live Stream are the same cost as the workshop’s standard ticket. We will request payment once your place has been confirmed.
How do I apply for a Live Stream ticket?
Please fill out the below form at least one month prior to the workshop you want to attend. Once all names have been received, 3 people will be selected at random three weeks before the workshop.
We will inform you via email and text, and you will need to make payment within two days to secure your place on the workshop.
What do I need to join the Live Stream on the day?
a WiFi enabled device with good sound quality and visual display.
the Meet mobile app or a supported web browser.
sufficient device battery charge to continue to stream over two full days.
You do not need a G Suite account.
You may want to have a back up device handy (e.g. a phone and a computer / a phone and a tablet / a tablet and a computer) but this isn’t essential.
We will create a calendar invitation in advance of the workshop inviting you to join the meeting; you will be able to access the Live Stream via this invitation, or via a link that we supply you. You should not forward this invitation or link to anyone else.
We will aim to host a short test run with all Live Stream students so that you are familiar with the set up and process before the workshop.
What happens if we encounter technical issues on the day?
We know that things can go wrong when relying on technology, but we will be on hand to troubleshoot any issues, should they arise, throughout the workshop.
What is expected of me during the workshop?
As you won’t be in the workshop setting, we ask that you set up in a way that allows you to work without distraction and with good WiFi connectivity. We will ask you to mute your device so that your background noise does not carry through to the workshop room, but you will be able to hear the teacher and student questions. We will be interacting with you throughout the day via messaging, so will be able to discuss any issues you’re facing as well as sharing your progress with the teacher throughout the day as well.
Am I able to get a refund if something goes wrong?
While we have not encountered any issues in our previous testing, if, during the workshop, our WiFi connection is not allowing us to stream, then we will issue an 80% refund of the ticket price.
A note about GDPR
In keeping with our obligations for General Data Protection Regulation, we will collate responses in a spreadsheet to be used internally for the purpose of selecting 3 students to join the workshop virtually via Live Stream. We will hold this information until the workshop has ended, and delete the spreadsheet afterwards.
